Etc/GMT-6
Location:
Graham Chapel

Rhythms was started in 2006 by Chandan Khandai to support rebuilding after Katrina, and it has continued successfully every year since, becoming a tradition among the a cappella community. This year we are especially excited to work with a Wash U affiliated charity, KIPP—Knowledge is Power Program—a public school for fifth through eighth grade determined to get every student who attends the school all the way through college. Wash U is sponsoring this KIPP school, which just opened in July with a class of 75 fifth graders.

We have seen first hand the power that this program has with its focus on reading and math. But they need help from us. Our concert hopes to provide funding for the students to be involved in an arts program, to increase their love of learning. As students at this prestigious university, we know the value of education in our own lives and are lucky enough to be in a position to help others find what we have been given.

Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and they will be available at the door starting at 7pm. If people have any questions, please contact us at Rhythms4Rebuilding@gmail.com.
